Brückner Servtec supports line restart with its famous on-site service
After an interruption of almost four years, the BOPET film stretching line from HiTi Digital Inc. (Taiwan) has been successfully put back into operation through support of Brückner Servtec. With the re-start HiTi enters the biax-market with high-quality PET-film and aims to strengthen its own market position by fulfilling customer orders for TRR (thermal transfer ribbons) film production.
Professional on-site service for line-restart
To get the line successfully back into operation, HiTi requested the expert on-site service of Brückner Servtec over a period of twelve days, to benefit of fast and professional support on upcoming challenges and technical questions regarding the recommissioning.
The project scope therefore included a mechanical function test, consisting of server and PLC restarts, checks of line drives, heaters, and control valves, as well as monitoring the TDO (Transverse direction orienter) air speed, pinning and pneumatic functions and the roll temperature.
On top, Brückner specialists supported the HiTi staff during the installation of new MDO (Machine direction orienter) rolls, conducted a special operator training and provided additional recommendations for further optimization of the production line as part of the service program.
As the restart day approached, the tension increased for everyone involved, as it was uncertain whether the machine could be properly restarted after such a long period of downtime. So, describes project manager Christian Gschwendtner, the restart as followed: "The restart went almost without a hitch, only commissioning the die proved to be particularly challenging. But when the first film was finally back on the winder, and the required film values were achieved promptly, both HiTi and Brückner Servtec personnel were delighted.”
Subsequently, the line parameters were carefully optimized throughout the entire production process to increase efficiency, reduce material loss, and ensure consistent product quality.
Exchange of experience and close teamwork enable high film quality
The support and great teamwork resulted in a successful comeback and HiTi owner Jeffrey Huang had high praise for the service team: "We are very grateful to have Brückner as a partner during the restart process. Restarting a mothballed line required skill, experience, and flexibility that Brückner's service team has in spades. Our team learned a great deal about their own equipment from Brückner's technicians and we're confident it will lead to a better quality product as we reenter mass production with our BOPET line in the near future."
We thank HiTi Digital for their trust in our on-site service and wish a successful PET-film production that will bring them the desired market success in the long term.
