At the beginning of March 2020, we had the pleasure to welcome Basil Sohrmann as our new Vice President Operations at PackSys Global in Rüti.
After graduating from the HSG St. Gallen, Basil Sohrmann started his professional career at Rieter in Winterthur, where he was responsible for an ambitious plant construction project.
Afterwards, as Managing Director for Swisslog in Kunshan (CN), he rebuilt the entire supply chain in the healthcare sector.
For the last four years, he worked for IGW in Suzhou and Qingdao (CN), where he managed a production facility for transmissions for the railway industry and was responsible for the introduction of specific initiatives such as Lean Management and KPI Monitoring.
Basil Sohrmann will focus on the core area of operations at PackSys Global. In his new position he will be responsible for the areas around production including warehouse, logistics, freight forwarding, QC, purchasing, planning, assembly and parts production.
He will take over line management responsibility at the Rüti and Burgdorf sites and exercise technical responsibility at the other sites. In addition, he will lead strategic projects at PackSys Global BU level and be a member of the BU Management Team.
